Meet Sibulele – Livestock Production

Sibulele Kobo comes from the small town of Tsolo in the Eastern Cape. She holds both a Bachelor of Agriculture and an  Honours degree in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Production Management.  Her career journey began as an Assistant Agricultural Practitioner at the Department of Agriculture, where she provided advisory and extension services to farmers, helping them improve productivity, sustainability, and profitability. Sibulele is deeply passionate about agriculture because it is not just the backbone of our economy, but also a vital part of ensuring food security and empowering rural communities.  She believes in using knowledge and innovation to uplift farmers and transform the agricultural sector. 

At Agri-Flourish, Sibulele will focus on all things livestock production – from animal health to sustainable grazing practices. Beyond her professional role, she is committed to lifelong learning, community empowerment, and promoting sustainable farming practices that can secure a brighter future for the next generation.

Meet Lerato – Crop Production

From Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and now based in Albert Falls, Lerato’s passion for agriculture has been a lifelong journey. After matriculating in 2017, she graduated with a degree in Crop Production Management from the University of the Free State in 2023.

Her professional journey began as an urban agriculture intern with the African Conservation Trust. Today, she is a Junior Manager at Shallow Drift Farms, overseeing a 30-hectare farm with diversified production. With expertise in hydroponics, row crop production, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable horticulture, Lerato brings practical field knowledge to every story she shares.

At Agri-Flourish, she leads the crop production space, writing on soil health, horticulture tips, and sustainable production techniques. Beyond the farm, Lerato is a passionate content creator, capturing agricultural journeys through photography and video, and hopes to one day lecture the next generation of agriculturalists.

Meet Sikhulisile – Agribusiness and Innovation

Sikhulisile is from Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape. She holds an Honours degree in Agricultural Management and a Masters degree in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of the Free State. Her passion for agriculture comes from a deep commitment to building resilient farming systems that strengthen food security while promoting environmental sustainability. She currently works as a DJI Agriculture Junior BDM where she focuses onbuilding strategic relationships, driving growth opportunities, and supporting the adoption of innovative solutions such as drone technology in farming. In this role, the aim is to bridge the gap between farmers, technology providers, and agribusiness stakeholders to ensure sustainable and profitable outcomes.

As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Agri-Flourish, Sikhulisile will focus on agribusiness and innovation, bridging research, field practice, and creative solutions to empower farmers and agri-entrepreneurs. Her passion lies in using knowledge and innovation to shape a more sustainable agricultural future, one where smallholders and commercial farmers alike can thrive.
